American Jewish World Service (AJWS)

In collaboration with local grassroots non-governmental organizations (NGOs), students participate in sustainable development projects, such as digging ditches for the laying of water lines, planting trees and crops, and building schools and community centers. They also spend time learning about the interrelationship of social justice, service and Judaism, and build bridges of solidarity with some of the world’s most marginalized communities. Students plan a meaningful Shabbat experience that allows participants to experience the challenges and rewards of pluralistic Jewish communities.
