Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life will present this year's Renaissance Award to philanthropist Leslie Wexner, founder, chairman and CEO of Limited Brands, Inc., at a gala event at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on May 21, 2008.

Hillel's Renaissance Award is given to individuals whose bold vision and transformative initiatives enrich the campus, the Jewish community and the world.

As the force behind the Wexner Heritage Program, the Wexner Graduate Fellowship Program and the Wexner Israel Fellowship Program, Mr. Wexner has helped to create a cadre of effective, passionate Jewish professional, volunteer, and government leaders in North America and Israel.

A member of Hillel's International Board of Governors, Mr. Wexner has provided critical support and counsel to Hillel as it has transformed itself to better serve students and was the principal benefactor of the Wexner Jewish Student Center at The Ohio State University, built in 1996. He remains an active supporter.

"Mr. Wexner has infused his personal commitment to excellence, leadership and community service throughout his business and philanthropic endeavors," said Hillel President Wayne Firestone. "He is an inspiration and a role model for Jewish students around the world."
