Muslim and Jewish students at Florida Atlantic University teamed up for an interfaith dialogue program called "Passage to Understanding" to protest a Florida pastor's plan to burn Qurans on Sept. 11. Students from the Jewish Student Union, Muslim Student Organization and Hillel met at the Levine Weinberger Jewish Life Center to "bridge a connection" between Jews and Muslims on the campus, said Lauren Heyman, 20, of Boca Raton, the Jewish Student Union president. Students and community leaders from each religion read and discussed passages from the Torah and Quran. The program gained extensive press coverage, including, WPTV, the Sun-Sentinel, the Jewish Journal and on a university blog.
