While over 17,000 people waited in line for the opportunity to see President Obama speak on campus, over 450 students and community members joined together on the UA Mall for a Memorial and Healing Prayer Service coordinated by Hillel and the University Religious Council.

Father Bart Hutcherson from the Catholic Newman Center, Pastor Ron Rude from the Lutheran campus Ministry and Rabbi Yitz Lieblich from Jewish Arizonans on Campus officiated the program. University of Arizona President Shelton spoke about the importance of coming together to heal as a community. Students from the Jewish, Catholic and Lutheran communities also participated in the service.
