Ellen B. Fuhr is committed to empowering young Jewish women by helping them navigate challenges she knows firsthand. Through her experiences as a young Jewish student, she displayed resilience, determination, and overcame significant challenges. Grateful for the impact that Hunter College had on her journey, she is dedicated to empowering Jewish women to reach their potential. In honor of this mission, she has established this scholarship with Hillel International to support and uplift future leaders. Eligible applicants must self-identify as Jewish women and attend Hunter College, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a proven record of leadership, entrepreneurship, or volunteerism within their campus or local community. Previous attendance at Hillel events is NOT a requirement for this scholarship.

Yes! You can apply to as many scholarships as you are eligible for. Students who are eligible for this scholarship may also be eligible for the Behrman Campus Leadership Award and the Frimer First Generation Student Scholarship
That’s okay! We encourage any and all Jewish students at these campuses who are otherwise eligible to apply. Hillel involvement on campus is not a requirement of this scholarship.
Hillel Scholarship Program Deadlines
- January 9, 2025 — Hillel International scholarship applications open
- March 3, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST — Application deadline
- March–June 2025 — All applicants are reviewed by the Hillel International Scholarship Program committee
- June 2025 — Award recipients are chosen and recipients announced
