Hillel International is excited to launch its application for Summer Internships 2023. Hillel is seeking exceptional college students for multiple internships to work with Hillel International’s employees across North America.

This internship will be a remote internship opportunity that will span 9 weeks from the beginning of June through the beginning of August; specific dates may vary depending on department.

Compensation: Interns will be paid $15.50 per hour* for up to 22 hours per week.
*Please note that hourly wage is dependent on which state the intern will be working out of.

Open Positions:
Marketing and Communications
As a member of Hillel International’s Student Marketing team, you will be responsible for assisting with marketing and advertising efforts across a number of different platforms to support campaigns related to Birthright Israel and other immersive Israel experiences. Responsibilities related to this position include: writing, designing, and sending email marketing communications; analyzing social media and email performance; designing social media graphics; helping to develop advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram; creating content for the Hillel International website, and more!
Qualified applicants should be comfortable using email and social media marketing platforms, have graphic design experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, experience in video editing (a nice-to-have), and possess excellent writing skills. Top candidates should be very comfortable using Canva or other graphic design software, and have a strong understanding of marketing statistics such as open rates, click-thru rates and cost per click.
Internship Dates: The internship will be from early June through early August. The exact dates are flexible.
As a member of Hillel International’s dynamic Marketing and Communications team, you will have the opportunity to play a prominent role in fundraising efforts across a number of different digital platforms, including email, website, texting, and social media. You will take an active role in creating designs and writing copy for stewardship and solicitations for Hillel supporters. You will also assist with drafting strategy and communications to current and prospective monthly donors (our Hillel Heroes!).
Qualified applicants should possess excellent writing skills, have fluency using Canva or Adobe Suite for graphic design work, have a creative eye, be highly organized, and be open to learning about all aspects of digital marketing and fundraising!
Internship Dates: June through August– exact dates are flexible.
As a member of Hillel International’s Marketing and Communications team, you will be responsible for creating content for Hillel International’s blogs, Humans of Hillel, News & Views, and a new donor-focused blog. As the digital media intern, you will also work with the Assistant Editorial Director to collaborate with other Hillel International departments to update website content for the upcoming academic year. Qualified applicants should possess excellent writing skills, be able to write copy that is fun and engaging, and be able to adapt their writing style to any audience. Applicants should also have fluency in using WordPress for website editing and Canva for basic graphic design work. You should consider yourself a strong writer and communicator, highly organized, open to constructive feedback, and excited to learn more about what it takes to work in digital media!
The digital media intern will also collaborate with the social media team to share editorial content across Hillel International’s social channels. Love that kind of work? There will be additional opportunities to work closely with the social media team on content creation and curation depending on your interest.
Operations and Talent
The Hillel Safety and Security Program is seeking an intern to assist with the daily operations and support to the Hillel International movement, providing safety and security resources, training, and incident response support to Hillels. Responsibilities related to this position include: social media and internet research, creating safety training and resource materials, presenting training both virtually and in person, and supporting communications and program management. This is a unique opportunity to work with Hillel and gain experience in security program management and the scope of the work will be challenging, meaningful, and fun!
Qualified applicants should either be currently enrolled in a college/university program or recent graduate, with an interest in national security, intelligence, law enforcement, or security management. Necessary skills include strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite.
The Strategic Human Resources team is looking for a collaborative, efficient, and detail oriented intern to support our team with daily processes including onboarding new employees, creating and updating employee resources and content, facilitating our internship program, and cultivating a great employee culture and experience. Responsibilities include helping our team update existing HR best practices resources and develop new ones, maintaining a filing system for employee records, helping action plan around employee engagement survey results, and serving as the liaison between the summer intern cohort and our team. Join our team to get a behind the scenes experience of all aspects of HR and be directly involved in a wide variety of HR related projects.
Qualified applicants should be a quick learner, organized, and an independent worker. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with data as well as sensitive HR documents. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the field of Human Resources from onboarding, performance management, professional development, and offboarding as well as overall employee engagement. Our team prioritizes creating the best experience for all employees and we’re looking for an intern who can approach our work with maturity, flexibility, and a positive attitude!
Programs and Partnerships
The Conferences and Events Summer Intern will work with the Conferences and Events team to plan and execute Hillel International’s two major summer programs. This will include project management, logistics organization, communication with stakeholders, researching and working with vendors and all other aspects of event planning. The C&E Summer Intern will travel to the first conference (July 23-26) and has the option to travel to the second conference (August 10-13). Please note that travel to the second conference is not a requirement of the internship, but is an option if the intern is available and interested. Travel, food and lodging for the conferences will be covered by Hillel International. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to both follow directions and take initiative and customer service focused.
