Applicants must be Jewish with high scholastic achievements, be active in Jewish affairs as well as school and community affairs, and have need of financial assistance. Each year a fouryear commitment is made to next year’s recipients. Awardees must maintain high marks not less than a 3.0 GPA.

Judy and Harold Abroms Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to two first-year Jewish students actively involved in their local Jewish communities. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.00, demonstrated involvement and ability as assessed by an Admission counselor, and a willingness to serve on Birmingham-Southern College’s Hillel Student Advisory Board.

The Jack and Harriet Kudine First-Year Student Scholarship

The Jack and Harriet Kudine First-Year Student Scholarship will be awarded to three graduating high school seniors preparing to seek a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. Applicants must demonstrate a record of leadership and/or volunteer service in any aspect of their local community, and must also self-identify as Jewish.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Bergen County Section will award several $1,000 scholarships to Jewish women who are seniors in Bergen County public high schools. Applicants must be women in high academic standing that are active in school activities and community service.

Alexander M. and June L. Maisin Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Alexander M. and June L. Maisin Foundation Scholarship Fund is awarded to Jewish high school seniors. Students must show strong academic record, leadership potential, and financial need. Student's parents must be permanent residents of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and north), Marin, or Sonoma Counties.

Morris J. and Betty Kaplun Foundation Essay Contest

Each year the Morris J and Betty Kaplun Foundation offers an essay contest to Jewish students in junior high and high school. Students write an essay on one of two topics. A total of 12 winners are chosen each year with one first prize award of $1,800 and five $500 awards given in each of the essay levels.

The Rabbi Alex J. Goldman Memorial Essay Contest was established in memory of Rabbi Goldman, a beloved rabbi at Temple Beth El. Three prizes are awarded for outstanding essays, with winners determined by committee.

The Bernard B. and Mary L. Brusin Scholarship Fund provides renewable scholarships to Jewish students for college or vocational training. Graduating seniors from a Duluth high school may apply. Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This scholarship is available to Jewish high school seniors graduating from Carmel, Fishers, Indianapolis, Noblesville and Westfield public high schools and who will pursue accredited programs of higher education in the forthcoming year.
