Abraham & Eleanor Staff Scholarship Fund

The applicant's parents must demonstrate financial need. The applicant must have been raised as and consider him/herself to be Jewish, and display leadership qualities in general and Jewish activities. Priority will be given to a student attending a college or university associated with the State University of New York. Applicants must reside in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga or Glens Falls and the immediately surrounding area.

David and Rose Udelson Bray Scholarship Fund

The Fund is intended to benefit students, preferably Jewish, to help subsidize the expense of a college education, to be disbursed at the rate of $2,000 per year to a different student each year. Priority is given to students who are connected to the Capital District.

Judith and Oscar Wax Scholarship

The Fund provides a scholarship to an outstanding young Jewish woman who grew up in the Capital District to enable her to enrich her Jewish learning through study or travel. The recipient must be enrolled in a program that has the purpose and focus of enriching Jewish knowledge. (Capital District refers to Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga or Glens Falls and the immediately surround area.)

Axelrod-Lichtenstein Scholarship

The Fund provides a merit scholarship to a Jewish medical-school student who is in good standing at an accredited medical school and studying for an M.D. degree. The applicant must have completed at least one year of medical school. Priority is given to students who are connected to the Capital District.

Paul M. Gans Scholarship

The Fund provides a scholarship to a graduate student studying toward a career in Jewish communal service, including such fields as the rabbinate, the cantorate, Jewish education, Jewish social work, etc. Priority will be given to those individuals who establish academic ability and/or financial need and to students who are connected to the Capital District.

Hilda & Dr. John Lanzkron Medical Scholarship

The Fund provides a scholarship to a Jewish medical-school student in good standing at an accredited medical school. Medical school transcript is required. The committee will consider volunteer activities and other interests. Priority is given to students who are connected to the Capital District.

Jack and Jessica Blinkoff Scholarship

Jewish Federation of G.O.C. offers one full scholarship awarded each year, covering the cost of one free trip to Israel. This award is given to one special 11th or 12th grade student, based on need and merit, who is a resident of Orange County, NY.

UJA Federation of NY Graduate Fellowship Program

Every year, we select up to 30 graduate students who are pursuing careers within the Jewish nonprofit world for our fellowship program. Each fellow will receive a scholarship toward earning his or her degree, engage in innovative seminars, and build relationships with a cohort of future Jewish leaders.
