Jewish Experience
From the ski slopes of the Green Mountains to the kayaks on Lake Champlain for tashlich, UVM Hillel infuses the best of Vermont with a personally meaningful Jewish experience for our Jewish students, their friends and allies. Our process begins by empathizing with students to then find ideas together and co-create initiatives that impact our community and constant integration toward sustainability. Jewish students feel proud to express their Jewish identity in its myriad ways through life, learning and Israel freely on our campus.
In 2021 our Hillel received the Great Place to Work Award among our Hillel peers for our overall commitment to our employee's wellbeing so they can be their best selves for our students. We use strengths to maximize our staff talents and regularly review progress on personal and organizational OKRs (objectives and key results). Employees are supervised with a focus on five areas of overall wellbeing including career, social, financial, communal and spiritual facets.
It’s not just trees that grow in Vermont! University of Vermont’s Jewish student life has been growing and flourishing this year with programs and spaces that nourish students’ bodies and voices.
