Howdy! Founded in 1913 as the Menorah Club at Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Hillel is one of the oldest Hillels in the country. If technically not the oldest, it is definitely the friendliest. Just ask any Aggie! Housed in the beautiful 18,000 foot A. I. and Manet Schepps Hillel Building, Hillel's Abe and Annie Seibel Center for Jewish Campus Life provides Jewish Aggies with more than just a home away from home. Hillel's diverse and frequent programs engage students socially, religiously, and educationally and include opportunities to give back to the community and the world-at-large through tikkun olam and tzedakah. Open 24/7 for students to meet, study, play pool, table tennis, basketball, foosball or video games. Under the leadership of the student board and Executive Director, Hillel also provides leadership opportunities, and runs Birthright Israel trips. Religious Services
Shabbat is a magical time at the Aggie Hillel. On any given Friday night during the school year, thirty to forty students come together for candle-lighting, an egalitarian, student-led Kabbalat Shabbat service, and a delicious, kosher meal, which is offered free of charge to all students. Many students linger for hours after dinner for conversation, learning, and recreational activities.
