Explore Capital University Jewish Student Union
The Capital Jewish Student Union was created to strengthen Jewish Identity among Jewish students, educate on issues relating to Israel/Zionism, and advocate for issues related to social justice. This group is open to all Cap. Jewish/ non-Jewish students & members of Bexley`s Jewish Community who are interested in learning about Jewish culture to also provide a forum to explore the religion & philosophy of Judaism. Mission: - Strengthen Jewish identity and education among Jewish Students, Jewish Faculty & Jews of the Bexley/Berwick community by means of holding programs for Shabbat and Jewish Holidays. - Provide an educational outlet to all students regarding Judaism & issues concerning Israel, and the Jewish Community - To fight sustaining prejudices against blatant anti-Semitism and the more discrete "anti-Zionism" by means of utilizing media resources and educational forums open to the whole community - To advocate and fight for issues related to social justice in the greater Jewish community of Columbus, such as poverty, Healthcare, & other social issues relating to Tikkun Olam (World Repair) and Jewish moral values. - To Connect with the Greater Columbus Jewish Community & OSU HILLEL to strengthen unity to our community - To strengthen ties among Secular, Reform, Conservative, & Orthodox Jews, and to build partnerships with the Columbus Jewish Federation and Zionist Organizations
