Explore Eckerd College Hillel
If Hillel doesn't really "float your boat"... then come to Eckerd College, because our Hillel actually owns a boat. "Ally's Way" is the official boat of Scubi Jew, our Jewish Scuba Club. Yes, not only do we have a mile and a half of waterfront property, we have a Jewish scuba Club. Scubi Jew is proud of their program of Tikkun HaYam, Repairing the Sea. They lead monthly cleanup dives in Tampa Bay, Coral Restoration trips to Key Largo, Manatee Awareness trips to Crystal River, scuba certification courses and much more. And of course we do what you would expect of any Hillel. We have a weekly Shabbat dinner and Kabbalat Shabbat Service, weekly Jewish learning opportunities with the Campus Rabbi, and social programs just for fun. In addition, our monthly "Bagels for Beagles" bagel brunch raises money for the Beagle Freedom Project which rescues beagles from laboratory testing. Since Eckerd College is a pet friendly campus, students bring their dogs, and other pets to enjoy the fun. If you're looking for a place where every single Jewish student makes a difference, then Eckerd College is the place for you. While our Hillel is small, Eckerd College is a great place to be a Jewish student.Undergraduate Enrollment
