Explore Hillel at Lawrence University
Appleton, Wisconsin's most famous citizen is Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz in 1874) son of the town's Reform rabbi. Like magic, Lawrence University's Hillel, small but spunky, attracts Jews and non-Jews alike to its Friday night Shabbat gatherings, Sukkah socials, and informal study sessions. Lawrence is a jazzy liberal arts college, known for its outstanding Conservatory, excellent faculty, and quality academic programs. A growing number of LU’s 1400 students are Jews, maybe 5%. The Hillel group meets in Sabin House, the comfortable Center for Spiritual and Religious Life on campus.Undergraduate Enrollment
