Explore Hillel at Davis and Sacramento
Hillel at Davis and Sacramento is a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant Jewish community located in Davis, California. Our mission is to enrich the lives of the more than 2,000 college students across the UC Davis and Sacramento State campuses so they may lead fulfilling and prideful Jewish lives helping to enrich the Jewish community, Israel and the world. We achieve this through personal engagement; leadership development; Jewish education and awareness; dynamic celebrations of Jewish life, customs, and observance; Tikkun Olam (Community Service), and Tzedakah (Philanthropy). Our Hillel was established in 1965 to provide a home away from home for the few hundred Jewish college students studying in the area at the time. From the mid-1960s until 2012, our Hillel operated from a small bungalow located across the street from UC Davis. In 2012, we replaced the bungalow with a beautiful new building - fulfilling a long-held dream.
Today, our Hillel serves thousands of Jewish undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals in the Davis/Sacramento area. We also love to welcome alumni, parents, grandparents, and community members. We offer a wide range of educational, social, spiritual, cultural, and tzedek programs, and no membership is required. Just come by and see what's happening!
All food served at Hillel is kosher and delicious! During the academic year, we offer Shabbat services and dinner on Friday evenings, a free lunch on Tuesdays at noon, and free snacks and comfortable places to study and relax with friends Monday - Friday.
