Explore Queen's Hillel

Queen’s Hillel creates a pluralistic environment in which anyone in the Queen’s community, regardless of denomination or religious belief, can feel comfortable and included. Whether it be one of our Shabbat dinners, our Holocaust Education Week activities, Israel engagement programs, LGBTQ+ events, or even our Chesed (social outreach) initiatives that take us into the greater Kingston community, Queen’s Hillel truly has something for everyone. Religious Services

Kingston is one of the oldest small Jewish communities in Ontario. Jews began arriving there in the early 1840s, when - for a few years - the city was the capital of the United Province of Canada. Kingston has two functioning kehillot; Beth Israel (Conservative) and Iyr HaMelech (Reform) and many students attend Shabbat services at Beth Israel due to it's proximity to campus. Chabad Kingston offers regular services in the Lubavitch Orthodox style catered primarily to students. All Kingston's congregations offer free seats at High Holiday services.

Frequency: Friday and Saturday
