Explore University of Richmond Hillel
University of Richmond Hillel supports Jewish students as they explore their identity among the backdrop of an elite liberal arts campus. We are committed to a multifaceted approach to Judaism. Such an approach allows us to focus on our deep ties with Israel, Social Action initiatives within the Richmond community, the building of a strong cultural network through Ritual, and engaging in the traditions of the Torah. The student board hosts weekly programs focused around five aspects of Jewish tradition: Ritual and Prayer, Torah and Study, Tzedek and Social Action, Jewish culture, and Israel. These programs often have a significant social component, and topics rotate regularly so students have the opportunity to engage with Judaism in a way that resonates for them most significantly. We offer free weekly Shabbat programming, High Holiday observances, a University-wide Passover Seder, a Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF), and more. Additionally, we work with local Richmond organizations to provide ongoing Holocaust education, we recruit for a campus Birthright Israel trip each summer, and help to offer unique alternative spring break trips through campus partners around the globe.Undergraduate Enrollment
