- Don’t walk with headphones in.
- Check your surroundings when walking.
- Don’t scroll on your phone, but have your phone ready to call the local police.
- Walk in pairs or groups — don’t walk alone.
- Stay where there is traffic and other people on foot.
- Stay in well-lit areas.
- Avoid dark parking lots, dark alleys, dark lanes, dark trails, or dark anything.
- Yell if you are under attack. Keep yelling, repeatedly. Yell as loud as you can. Scream. Be noisy. This alone may scare off an attacker
When attending an anti-Israel rally, witnessing antisemitism, or seeing an escalated or violent situation:
- Take out your camera and start recording (the earlier the better and keep recording)
- Make sure you feel safe and are at a safe distance
- Once you are in a safe position, write down what you heard
