“Not all disabilities are visible. When I began telling people that I had a chronic illness, many didn’t understand. I didn’t look physically disabled until I needed to use my cane or wheelchair to get around. My own experience encouraged me to make my campus community more inclusive.

“As a Ruderman Inclusion Ambassador at Santa Cruz Hillel, it’s my responsibility to listen to students voice their concerns about inclusivity, accessibility and mental health. I’ve been working on a project to give student-led organizations a platform to make their organizations more welcoming and inclusive. Communication and conversations are key to making things happen.” — Wren Reeve (they/them), Cabrillo College
