Led by a dedicated team of educators and magic makers, our mission is to inspire every Jewish student to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel.
We are the home away from home for UC San Diego's 800 +Jewish students, with opportunities for Shabbat and holiday meals, Jewish learning and spiritual exploration, alternative break service trips and Israel travel opportunities.

Hillel of San Diego is anchored under three core values: Hillel is home- meaning that our spaces and programs give students a community that is welcoming, inviting, and offers centers of belonging. We provide wrap-around holistic care- meaning that all our Jewish students needs can be supported at Hillel whether that is mental health counseling, basic needs assistance, career counseling, addressing antisemitism, making friends, spiritual experiences-- we do it all! Hillel of San Diego is innovative excellence- meaning that we are pioneers in the field of Jewish campus life- always trying new and bold ideas for the betterment of our students and the future of the Jewish community.

Wellness, Inclusion, and Activism
Hillel of San Diego provides holistic wraparound care, including wellness support with a full-time wellness counselor on staff for 1:1 counseling, and inclusion of wellness in programs (like low-sensory options during large-scale events)
Shani Menna, incoming executive chair of Hillel’s Israel Leadership Network, never doubted whether she would be involved in speaking up for Israel on her campus — the only question was what form her activism would take. “Israel has always been a big part of my identity,” she said. “It’s in my DNA. ”
