Hillel Russia celebrated its 25th anniversary on Nov. 12 at the Moscow School of Modern Drama Theater.

Attendees included Hillel Russia students, alumni, professionals and stakeholders who traveled from cities around the world, including New York, Jerusalem and Berlin, to share in the special evening.

The event was supported by Genesis Philanthropy Group, A-Club and Veranda.

Hillel International brought a delegation of Hillel professionals and stakeholders, led by Hillel International Chairman Skip Vichness.

Elena Voltsinger, executive director of Hillel Russia, said the leaders who gathered for the celebration have empowered Jewish students and young adults in Russia to “find pride and a sense of connection to the Jewish peoplehood around the world and our rich culture.”

She added, “We are here because we believe in the transformative power of education to preserve our common Jewish heritage. We are here because we believe that the next generation of Jewish students should be able to be proud of the culture we all belong to.”

Hillel Russia has engaged 40,000 Jewish students and young adults over the last 25 years.

The program also included an immersive art show featuring music and contemporary dance.

Margarita Skipina, who serves as a public relations professional for Hillel Russia, said the ideas expressed in the pieces of artwork reflected the values of Hillel Russia, including education, leadership and building the Jewish future.
