More than 250 Boston-area Jewish students celebrated the holiday of Purim in style on March 24 at a regional party co-sponsored by Hillel Council of New England and area campus Hillels, including Northeastern, Harvard, Brandeis, Boston University, Simmons, Emerson, Suffolk, and more. Held at the beautiful Ritz Carlton at Boston Common, students danced the night away in costumes, got silly in a photo booth, and enjoyed a lavish dessert buffet. Lizi Fine, Hillel President at Simmons College said, “It was a huge success bringing all of these campuses together. The Purim party was so fun and great to attend a party where everyone did the horah and it was completely normal!”

An impromptu co-ed team, both sporting full-body tiger costumes, won the coveted VISA gift card in the costume contest. Ethan Sobel, Director of Jewish Student Life at Boston University Hillel said, “Uniting Hillel campuses from across Boston has become a staple for the collegiate Jewish community this year. The Purim Party was truly emblematic of what being a Hillel student is: fun, laughing, exploring, bonding and continuing on the Jewish journey of life. It was a fantastic evening and holiday celebration.”
