HIAS Scholarship Awards Competition

This competition is open to refugees and asylees who were assisted by the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society to come to the U.S. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply for a $2000 award towards educational expenses. Applicants will be judged in three areas: academic scholarship, financial need and Jewish communal involvement.

Hilda & Dr. John Lanzkron Medical Scholarship

The Fund provides a scholarship to a Jewish medical-school student in good standing at an accredited medical school. Medical school transcript is required. The committee will consider volunteer activities and other interests. Priority is given to students who are connected to the Capital District.

Hilda Specter Morgenstern Merit Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a Jewish woman who plans to study in Israel at a university, seminary or other study abroad program. Applicants must: study in Israel during her undergraduate education, identify strongly as Jewish, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an interest in public advocacy, public policy or government affairs.

Hillel Leadership Scholarship – Spiritual and Religious Life

This $20,000 scholarship is awarded to one incoming student each year who demonstrates academic excellence and a commitment to Jewish community through leadership or volunteerism and intends to enthusiastically bring these qualities to their Trinity experience. The Hillel Leadership Scholar will join a growing cohort of motivated students who participate and lead their peers at Trinity College Hillel in areas of Jewish life of their choosing, including (but not limited to) cultural, educational, volunteer, social, and religious programming.

This fellowship provides financial aid to a deserving graduate student pursuing a degree in the study of Jewish history, Hebrew language and literature, Yiddish studies, or Judaism. The recipient is chosen from the applicants to the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies fellowship program.

Horvitz YouthAbility Program Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students seeking a degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related field. Applicants must be a resident of the Greater Cleveland area, have a family household income of $150,000 or less, and plan to or currently attend a four year college or university.
