New York Philanthropist to Lead Hillel International Board of Directors

“Tina’s extensive leadership experience and philanthropic work in the Jewish community are tremendous assets to us as we continue to shape the future of Hillel,” said Eric D. Fingerhut, president and CEO of Hillel International. “Her vision for enhancing Jewish student life on campus, her creative thinking and solution-oriented approach in the face of challenges, and her commitment to cultivating future generations will help Tina shine in her new role and benefit the hundreds of thousands of students impacted by Hillel around the world.”

Price previously served as chair of the executive committee of Hillel International’s board of directors and as board chair of the Israel on Campus Coalition. A graduate of Barnard College, she is an active member of the New York Jewish community. Price serves on the board of the UJA-Federation of New York, where she has previously served on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Caring Commission, leading programs focused on poverty, end of life care, at-risk youth and autism. She has also worked with Ashalim, which develops programs and services for young at-risk populations in Israel, and serves on the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, where she chaired the Martha K. Selig Divisional Board.

In addition to her work with Hillel International, Price is also on the board of the Columbia-Barnard Hillel. Her experience with the day-to-day operations and regular interaction with students on the local level give her an insight into how Hillel can impact the communities it serves.

Price succeeds Sidney Pertnoy, who served as Hillel International’s chair for the last three years and continues to serve as a Hillel International leader. Under Pertnoy’s leadership, Hillel hired Fingerhut and other key organizational leaders, launched The Drive to Excellence strategic plan and expanded its global footprint.

“I have really enjoyed the opportunity to see how Hillel’s work changes lives on college campuses around the world,” Pertnoy said. “The work we do is inspiring students every day to make their own commitment to Judaism and to embrace a love for Israel. I am confident Tina will build on our success and expand Hillel’s impact on campuses everywhere.”

The Drive to Excellence is designed to help campuses and communities around the world implement the best practices for supporting Jewish student life. The program is designed to build “excellent Hillels” through investment in talent, student engagement, and strong campus and community partnerships. 

“I am excited to be a part of this critical organization as we seek to engage and inspire every Jewish student on campus to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel,” Price said. “Our board is committed to supporting Hillel professionals in executing The Drive to Excellence.”

Price said she is focused on growing resource development for the entire Hillel movement and strengthening and supporting the work of every Hillel to achieve excellence.
