Arlene Shea Stein College Scholarship Fund

Scholarship applicants must be Jewish high school graduates entering college, and be current residents of Hampton Roads (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, Hampton, Newport News, and the Peninsula).

Doris and Bernard Gordon Scholarship

Our Gordon Scholarship program is an incentive for Jewish leaders on campus. Four Gordon scholarships are awarded each year, contributing thousands of dollars annually toward the education of selected students. This four-year scholarship focuses on strengthening the student's understanding of leadership through a Jewish lens. Through this program, Gordon Scholars both develop and exercise leadership at progressive levels during their college experience.

Leah Metchnick Godofsky and Martin R. Godofsky Scholarship

Upon consultation with the faculty, the Student Awards Committee of the Melton Center for Jewish Studies at The Ohio State University will award $500 annually to one deserving undergraduate student enrolled in courses of Jewish study at the university level. This award is nominated by faculty and does not require an application.

Morris and Fannie Skilken Family Foundation Fund Scholarship

Up to $2,000 is available per academic year for up to THREE students. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 overall and be enrolled as an undergraduate at Ohio State with continued enrollment for the following year. Applicants must be a major or minor in Hebrew, Yiddish, or Jewish Studies.

Reva and Sanford Lipson Student Support Fund

The Lipson scholarship provides support for students studying the history and culture of the Jewish people. Up to $2,500 can be awarded to TWO students. Applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate at Ohio State with continued enrollment the following year. Applicants must have completed at least one Jewish Studies course.

George and Emily Severinghaus Beck Fund Scholarship

Financial support will be given to two students who wish to attend the summer program at the Vilnius Yiddish Summer Institute in Lithuania. Up to $2,000 is available for up to TWO students. Award given to undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio State.

Charlotte Susan Roth Memorial Fund Essay Contest

Essay topics can include any aspect of Jewish Studies (Bible, language, literature, history, culture of Israel, etc.) Open to any undergraduate or graduate student at Ohio State who has written a paper on a topic related to Jewish Studies. There are first and second cash prizes ($1,000 and $750, respectively).

Ellen E. and Victor J. Cohn Education Abroad Scholarship Fund

Financial support is available for study at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Preference given to students attending Hebrew U for the entire academic year. Award is contingent on acceptance to Hebrew U and Ohio State approval of student travel to Israel.
